Bristol breweries listed among UK's best in South Western Railway research


South Western Railway has ranked all independent producers of beer based on their average Google review rating, the number of beers they produce, and the rating of their top-performing beer according to review website RateBeer. Bristol is the only UK city with three breweries in the top 15 Arbor Ales in Easton is the highest-placed brewery in the city, placing at number in the list of the top 15. Bristol Beer Factory in Southville comes in at number seven and Wiper and True in St Werburgh's at 13. Bristol is the only UK city to boast three breweries in the top 15, once again demonstrating that it is one of the best beer destinations in the nation. All three have an average Google rating of 4.8 out of five, but it is Bristol Beer Factory that has the city’s top-rated beer on RateBeer, the largest collection of beer reviews in the world. Their creamy Stout, Bristol Beer Factory Artemis Series #3, scores an impressive 4.8 out of five. According to the top-rated beers from the top 15 independent breweries, it appears the UK is a nation of stout drinkers, with six being of that variety. Four from the list of the top 15 are a type of ale, while another three are a type of IPA.
